To express the elegance of a woman, even during pregnancy: this is the ambition of the maternity wear company, Attesa Premaman.

The idea took shape in 1989, when founder and owner of the company, Vittorio Martinelli, started his business in Pastrengo, in the Veronese hills of Lake Garda.  In a market which merely adapts the shape of clothes to make then suitable to wear during pregnancy, which is considered as a period of transition, Vittorio Martinelli sensed the potentials of a line dedicated entirely to mothers-to-be, capable of meeting their needs and enhancing their charm.  This led to the creation of new collections, which combine essential comfort with the prestige of style.

The market welcomed them.  Today garments with the Attesa brand are found not only on national territory, but also abroad, with exports to England, Ireland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark, not to mention Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Lithuania and Russia, and, even farther a field, the USA, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.

Its constant presence at the international exhibition Pitti Bimbo consolidates the position and enhances the image of the company.

In its new premises in Lazise, with state of the art production technologies, Vittorio -Martinelli remains faithful to his philosophy – designing collections which allow mothers-to-be, at such an important time of their life, to feel beautiful and fashionable.

*Merino Wool

Merino wool is tightly crimped and springy. Staples are commonly between 2.5–4 inches (65–100 mm). A Saxon Merino produces between 3 and 6 kg of unwashed wool a year while a good quality Peppin Merino ram will produce up to 18 kg of unwashed wool a year. Merino wool is generally less than 24.5 micrometers (microns, µm) in diameter. Medium merino wool is between 20.6-22.5 µm, fine medium is between 19.6-20.5 µm, fine is between 18.6-19.5 µm, superfine is between 17.6-18.5 and ultra fine wool is between 12.5 to 16.9. Ultra fine wool is suitable for blending with other exclusive fibers such as Silk and Cashmere.

The term "merino" is widely employed in the textile industries with very varied meanings. Originally it was restricted to denote the wool of the merino sheep reared in Spain, but owing to the superiority of Australian and New Zealand wools the term now has broader use. In the dress-goods and knitting trades the term "merino" still implies an article made from the very best soft wool.
